The ASSY 4.0 Screws are part of the range of Würth self tapping screws covered by a European Technical Approval (ETA.11/0190). The ETA provides characteristic mechanical properties for the screws. It is issued by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) There are many other applications where the Assy 4.0 Screws will save you time and money. Your Structural Engineer will be able to compare their characteristics using the ETA document listed above. Würth also has a dedicated software programme that can be downloaded Free of charge
Overall, the test programme indicates that a design that works with M12 bolts will also work with 8mm Würth ASSY 4.0 screws. The screws may therefore be used as a substitute for M12 bolts to assemble trimming joists and trimmers. The screws should be spaced at not more than 600mm. The screw length should be chosen to ensure that the maximum threaded length is in the tip side timber
